Your MagicBand enables you to travel lighter throughout your vacation. Use it to enter the parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and buy food and merchandise. Plus, your MagicBand gives you FASTPASS+ access to all the experiences you’ve selected online, so you can simply concentrate on enjoying the fun with the people you care about. You simply scan your magic band at the Fast Pass entrance of the selected attraction.
MagicBands add a touch of magic to your vacation by unlocking special surprises, personalized just for you, throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Once your Let It Go Journeys Travel Specialist has linked your MagicBand, you don’t need to do anything different. Your MagicBand and My Disney Experience profile will do the rest, creating unexpected Disney moments–just like magic.
And, each of these magical moments will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind digital keepsake by Disney PhotoPass Service. All you have to do is go to your PhotoPass account to see all the memories Disney has captured and created for you!
Q. How do I use my MagicBand?
A. Most of the time, all you need to do is touch your MagicBand against a sensor called a touch point. It’s that easy!
Your MagicBand enables you to travel lighter throughout your vacation. Use it to enter the parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and buy food and merchandise. Plus, your MagicBand gives you FastPass+ access to all the experiences you’ve selected online, so you can simply concentrate on enjoying the fun with the people you care about.
MagicBands can also be read by long-range readers to deliver amazing personalized experiences, as well as provide information that helps us improve the overall experience in our Resort. You don’t have to do anything beyond being nearby to interact with long-range readers. They just work—like magic!
In addition to touching your MagicBand or card to a touch point, you will be required to enter a PIN code to uniquely identify yourself when making purchases. To enter the parks, you will be required to provide biometric identification or show a photo ID that matches the name identified with your ticket. This process helps to ensure that you, and only you, have access to the entitlements linked to your MagicBand or card.
MagicBands are always operational. They don’t have an on/off switch. If you lose a MagicBand, you can deactivate it on My Disney Experience, and it will no longer be linked to your tickets and other entitlements.
MagicBands use Radio Frequency (RF) technology and can be read by short and long-range readers located at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you prefer to use a card—which cannot be detected by long-range readers—you can request a card at your Disney Resort hotel.
Please note: valid theme park admission is required to use FastPass+ service. In addition, any Guest who wishes to use their MagicBand to purchase an alcoholic beverage at Walt Disney World Resort must also present a valid form of identification.
Q. How do I use my MagicBand or card when I have a FastPass+ arrival time at an attraction or entertainment experience?
A. It’s so easy that you’ll think it’s magic!
When you arrive during your scheduled FastPass+ arrival time, all you need to do is proceed to the FASTPASS queue entrance and touch your MagicBand or card to a sensor called a touch point.
Please remember that each member of your party will have to individually touch their MagicBand or card to the touch point, so everyone should be sure to have their MagicBand or card available.
Q. What happens if I don’t customize my MagicBand?
A. If you don’t customize a Magic Band with your name and favorite color within 6 days of your visit, you will be provided with a non-customized MagicBand or card when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel.
A MagicBand or card both allow you to enter the parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and buy food and merchandise. Plus, your MagicBand or card gives you FastPass+access to all the experiences you’ve selected, so you can simply concentrate on enjoying the fun with the people you care about.
Customizing your MagicBand is fun and easy, plus it’s a great way to differentiate your MagicBand from other members of your travel party. You may also like to know that the printed name appears on the inside of the MagicBand for your privacy.
Q. What should I do if I lose my MagicBand or card?
A. Visit disneyworld.com, visit the MagicBand section of My Profile and select the MagicBand or card you wish to deactivate. Then, when asked for the reason why you are deactivating, indicate that the MagicBand or card is lost. You can also deactivate a MagicBand by using the My Disney Experience mobile app.
If you have another MagicBand or card available, you can activate it on the MagicBand section of My Profile.
In the event that you lose your MagicBand or card while staying at Walt Disney World Resort, please visit Guest Relations or your Disney Resort hotel Lobby Concierge and we will deactivate it for you.
Please note: On occasion, we may be able to provide you with a replacement MagicBand. However, replacement MagicBands are provided on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to a fee. In addition, limited-edition and specialty MagicBands cannot be replaced.
